Longfellow/SOTA II Welcomes 2nd Thought Band
Jerrilynn Donley entered Longfellow into a contest through the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. The entry consisted of getting pictures of milk mustaches on our students, making a commercial for milk and doing a promotion on the benefits of drinking milk.
The prize for this contest was a special concert by a national recording group called 2nd Thought. This band is made up of four high school students from Whitefish Bay, WI. 2nd Thought has played at Summerfest in Milwaukee and has also recorded their first CD.
One the day of the concert, Alice in Dairyland, Cheryl O'Brien, and three representatives from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board handed out FREE chocolate milk to every student during lunch. We also had Chris Collins, from the La Crosse Radio Group and former student of Longfellow, play music during lunch for our students.
During the concert Dr. Reedy, Alice in Dairyland, and Jerrilynn Donley got up and sang "Johnny Be Good" with the band. We had a great time!

Saving Student Computer Files
If your student is having issues working on assignments at home & then opening them at , the easiest solution is to have Open Office loaded on your home computer. It is a FREE download.
The district has chosen this software because it is safe, easy to use and free. Visit http://www.openoffice.org/ & download it to your home computer. Your students can save their documents, presentations, etc. to a flash drive & then open it on the computers.
