State Road currently has 299 children enrolled in preschool through grade 5. It is located just off State Highway #33 on Hagen Road. It is situated on five acres of meadow at the base of the bluffs. In 1995, the fourth and fifth grades created three trails in the woods that are used year-round by all the students to connect their learning with the environment. The very spacious grassy and black-top areas surrounding the school allow children to have excellent play spaces for school activities. These areas are also used by the community for informal and organized sports throughout the year.

Special Program Honored Veterans
The students of State Road Elementary hosted an all school assembly focusing on Veterans Through the Ages on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 9:00 a.m. in the gymnasium. Rod Ofte of Coon Valley was our guest speaker. We also invited our friends from Hillview Nursing Home. The students prepared a number of patriotic songs that they shared with the audience.

The presentation also included a power point presentation honoring veterans. The veterans in this power point included family and friends of State Road students and staff.

November 12: 3rd grade to Hillview.

November 26, 27, 28: Thanksgiving Break. No School.

December 11: 4th grade field trip to Madison.

December 15: String Concert - 6:30 pm.

December 17: 3rd grade to Hillview.

December 24th - January 4th: Winter Break. No School.

January 5th: School resumes.

Januray 19: No school - Teacher Inservice.
